me and my Host Julie before i left Fairbanks
Northpole is south of Fairbanks...
one of the common waterstations. 1 Gallon (3,8L) is 25 Cent
between the bigger settlements you mostly have only roadhouses
Birchlake where i stayed for one night
from time to time you could see the Alaska Range on the other side of Tanana River
a straight road led me up to the Ridge
and a strong Headwind tried to push me back down
view back to Delta Junction
an incredible campspot
from time to time there were some moose next to the road, here 2 young ones
the clouds hanging low so i couldn´t see that much of the glaciers on the top
but there was a nice view to the tongue of Gulkana Glacier on the Pass
next day this was maximum view... Rain, Rain, Rain!
Down in the Valley i met Copper River and followed him upstream
after 2 rainy Days i needed to try my things
with a little bit of Sunshine everything looks even more beautiful
parking for all kind of 2 Wheelers
the Road winds north through the Mountains
the Magic Bus along the ROad
a evening in a warm bus, a book... perfect!
the sourrounding stayed beautiful
Break along the Road
with all that headwind you need a break from time to time... a book is helpful
Sunset in Tok
A night in a bunkbed...
and it was time for a celebration... 2 Years on the Road
at the Junction to Taylor Highway
View back down to Tok
just in Time for the "Big Game"
on the Ridge the Country is extremly wide and like here burned down
camping with benefits... but illegal
the road was rolling northwards... you could not see the bottom of the ditches, quite deep, puh!
then i reached the "Town" of Chicken
and after it stayed gravel
view down to the River Valley
the Nights are getting colder
the road is following the hills up
and then i reached the top
and followed this perfect road to the border
the borderpost to canada
reached Canada and the Top of the World, Yeah!
the road offered incredible views into the sourrounding valleys
behind every turn there was a new valley
sometimes i just stopped to enjoy the scenery
you could look so far to the sourrounding mountains...
in the Evening it went even more beautiful
the Road winds over the Hills to the East
and then i could see the Yukon River in the Valley and the road went down
Dawson City on the shore of Yukon River
the Ferry over Yukon in Dawson
